Body Beautiful

In the exhibition Body Beautiful, a new generation of fashion creators challenge today's standards and beauty ideals on different levels. On the catwalk, in advertising, fashion magazine and even behind the camera.

Things are starting to happen in the fashion industry. An industry that has long been exclusive and has contributed to unhealthy body ideals is now beginning to be questioned and rethought. There is a development in which representation and inclusion are becoming more common. Models of different ages, sizes and origins are starting to appear more and more on the catwalk.

The Body Beautiful exhibition is structured around five themes: size, gender, age, functional variation and ethnicity. In addition to garments from well-known designers such as Max Mara, Dries Van Noten, Vivienne Westwood and Jean-Paul Gaultier, filmed interviews are shown with influencers, models, stylists, photographers and editors who share their opinions and experiences with the fashion industry. We also get to see pictures from the catwalkby legendary fashion photographer Chris Moore.

The exhibition comes from the National Museums Scotland in Edinburgh and consists of about twenty garments from private deposits and the National Museums Scotland's own textile and fashion collection. The Textile Museum in Borås is the first to exhibit the touring exhibition Body Beautiful.
