Mats Alfredsson - Street Soul

Abecita Art Museum, Borås
|Translated by Google translation|

Mats Alfredsson is an international street photographer and lecturer. His passion is to document human behavior. Always spontaneous, without asking in advance. The images reflect rapid events in the public environment. Small stories that in most cases leave us unnoticed.

The images reflect the street's ongoing theater and, in principle, always contain people who interact in some way with other people or the environment they are in. It may be the couple kissing each other inside the glass door to the local pub or the man being tattooed inside a storefront in Chicago.

A basic rule is never to arrange anything in advance, the people on the pictures are always unknown to him. Sometimes he talks with them after the picture is taken, sometimes the moment disappears quickly and they never meet again. His mission is to document the world and man just as it looks today. Osminkat andrealistically.

The pictures in this exhibition are taken from cities such as Melbourne, Cape Verde, Chicago, Dublin, Gothenburg, Barcelona, Paris and Rome.

Mats has had a number of exhibitions throughout Sweden in the past eight years, but also internationally in cities like Paris, Miami, London and Chicago. He is also part of an international photo collective. The Street Collective, with photographers from Germany, England, Israel, France, India, Vietnam, Morocco and the United States.

Two years ago, he released his first book, Chicago Streetwalk, with images solely from a city deeply rooted in his heart.
